Airing July 22nd to 28th on The Writers Divine Den with Jackie VanCampen and her guest Dana Trent
Dana Trent was raised in rural Indiana and North Carolina, and knew she wanted to be a writer the moment she could successfully hold a pencil. She studied French and history at Salem College, and, was ordained in the Baptist tradition at age 21. In 2006, Dana graduated from Duke University Divinity School, a Master of Divinity.
Since Duke, she has served as a hospital chaplain, worked in higher education administration, nonprofit fundraising, and grant writing. In 2011, she took the plunge to become a full-time writer, speaker, and teacher. She is also the author of Saffron Cross which is a spiritual memoir about her interfaith marriage.
Today, she balances her writing and teaching life with travelling for Saffron Cross. When she’s home, she teaches at a small private arts college where she coaxes artists into claiming their power as public speakers.
She loves to procrastinate with episodes of The Young and the Restless and celebrity news.
When she and her husband can pry themselves from their computers, they cherish walks in the woods and attempting new vegetarian recipes.
